The purpose of this class is to educate students on the management variety of medical practices that exist in the healthcare environment. Following the six domains of knowledge from the Medical Group Management Association, students will have the opportunity to understand the components required to structure and operate a medical group practice. Students will work within a small group to create a fictional medical group practice, identifying governance, legal, and operations structure of the group. In addition, the group will address important issues including patient care, human resources, medical staff, quality, diversity and inclusion, reimbursement, strategic planning, and community involvement.
